Collie horse rider Tahlia Reichelt was named in the under 12 WA state polocrosse team over the weekend.
Tahlia had been working hard over the past few months, along with the other members of the squad, to impress the selectors and win the opportunity to represent the state in the sport that combines elements of polo and lacrosse.
As part of her preparation, Tahlia has been working hard to ensure that both she and her horses were in top condition for the week-long competition.
She has spent numerous hours in the saddle getting the horse fit and many weekends on the road travelling to training and tournaments in order to improve her game knowledge and racquet skills.
Tahlia will be heading to the Swan Valley in Perth from October 1 to October 7 with her horses, Noodle and Xena, to compete against teams representing the other states.
Over 400 players and 600 horses from around the country will be making the trip to WA in order to compete against the best polocrosse players WA has to offer.
Tahlia’s family and friends will be holding a cake stall on September 6 outside Terry White Chemmart to help Tahlia with fundraising for the tournament.
