Youth Minister Peter Tinley has opened nominations for Western Australia’s annual Youth Awards, giving the State’s young people an opportunity to shine.
The awards recognise Western Australians aged between 12 and 25 for their achievements and contribution to the community, as well as individuals and organisations that work with and support the State’s youth.
Nominations are open for nine different categories, covering areas such as youth work, leadership and positive achievements, and close on September 6 with winners to be announced at the State Theatre Centre of WA on October 12.
Youth Minister Peter Tinley said it was important to recognise the contributions young people make to the community.
“I encourage Western Australians to nominate an outstanding young person, or an organisation working with young people, for making a difference,” he said.
Nominations are open for the following awards:
- The Minister for Youth’s Most Outstanding Youth Worker Award;
- The Hope Community Services Positive Achievement Award;
- The Mission Australia Cultural Endeavours Award;
- The YMCA Organisational Achievement Award - Large;
- The Life Without Barriers Organisational Achievement Award - Small;
- The ECU Community Leadership Award;
- The Commissioner for Children and Young People Participate Award;
- The RAC Innovation for a Sustainable Future Award; and
- The Charmaine Dragun Memorial Award.
