The South West Rail and Heritage Centre in Boyanup will have a second crack at hosting its Blacksmith Blast open day.

From 10am-2pm on Sunday, September 23, the skilled artisans of the Boyanup Fundation Blacksmiths will be practising their ancient craft with master blacksmith Malcolm Paine instructing the blacksmiths in a new technique which will see a unique hand forged item created.

The centre had intended to host the event back in July, but it was cancelled due to work being completed by Western Power in the area.

Other centre resident groups, including the Capel Men’s Shed, the Preston River Old Machinery Group and the South West Model Railway Group, will also be doing what they do best.

Entry to the centre is by donation. For more information, email swrhc@railheritagewa.org.au or call Norm on 0459 712 552
