Intermediates – Grand final
Rovers 2 (B. Ramshaw, P. Marley) d Swans 1 (J. Woods); Best Rovers: Team effort; Best Swans: Team effort; Fairest and Best in grand final: Alyssa Davidson (Rovers).
The Intermediate comp came to a end last Tuesday with a fantastic close grand final being played between Rovers and Swans.
A lot of players showed early nerves, a number of players were playing in their first grand final and in front of a large crowd.
Rovers earned a number of short corners only to be stopped by Swans’ in form goalie Alyssa Harrold.
Rovers attacked through great team play, scoring the first goal of the game.
Swans didn’t give up and scored to even the game up and sending it into extra time.
Rovers were awarded a short corner right on the siren for the end of the first five minutes and on the third attempt at the short corner they scored to come away with the 2018 premiership.
Congratulations to both teams on a fantastic well fought out final.

At the presentations Alyssa Davidson from Rovers was awarded fairest and best in the grand final.
Grace Sheppard (Mustangs) was the highest goal scorer with 22 goals.
The season’s fairest and best was jointly won by Alyssa Davidson and Belle Ramshaw (Rovers) on 16 votes; runner-up was Grace Sheppard (Mustangs) on 15 votes.
Association president Rachel Moloney thanked all four teams for competing in this year’s competition with special mention to the Amaroo girls for sticking with it and encouraged them to get back out there next year, and they will be a force to be reckoned with.
Rachel also thanked all the umpires for the season.
Grand Finals
This Saturday will see the senior teams play their grand finals, with presentations after the A-grade grand final.
The association wishes all competitors best of luck, may all games be played in the best spirit with respect shown to all players, umpires and tech bench officials.
