The Collie Eagles Year 10 continued their season for another week with a hard-fought win over the Harvey Brunswick Leschenault Lions at Kelly Park on Saturday.
After dispatching the Harvey Bulls the previous week, the Eagles took on the Lions in what turned out to be a high scoring shootout.
Carrying their strong form from the previous week, the Eagles kicked their second-highest score of the season in the 14.5 (89) to 10.4 (64) victory.
The win means the Eagles will now continue their season with a clash against Dunsborough at Payne Park on Saturday, September 15.
The two teams met twice previously this season, with the Eagles going down in a tight game at home before being outclassed on the road.
However it was season over on the weekend for the Year 9 team after it fell in its final against Harvey Brunswick Leschenault Lions at Kelly Park.
Despite battling hard against a team that finished higher on the ladder during the season, the Eagles weren’t able to claim the victory.
Inaccuracy in front of goals was an issue for the team as they recorded just two fewer shots on goal in the 4.9 (33) to 7.8 (50) defeat.
Attention will now turn to the final week of the season, with the Year 7s taking on South Bunbury in the grand final at Hands Oval on Saturday morning.
