Senior Sergeant Heath Soutar is hoping to see the community come along on Saturday to pay its respects to fallen police officers.
The Collie Police Station will host a small ceremony at 10am on Saturday, September 29 to commemorate Police Remembrance Day.
Police Remembrance Day is a national event to remember all police officers from across the country who have committed the ultimate sacrifice and lost their lives in the line of duty.
Senior Sergeant Soutar said it was important to remember those who were lost.
“We all put our safety on the line every day to keep the community safe,” he said.
“I’ve personally known a few officers who have lost their lives and it’s not something you ever want to have happen.
“It’s important that we all remember these officers and what they have done.”
Senior Sergeant Soutar said he would ‘love to see’ the community get involved and pay their respects at the ceremony.
He also said there would be a morning tea afterwards.
