For the third week in a row, Collie pacers came up trumps for their connections at headquarters last Friday night.
This time it was with a double for trainers Errol Ashcroft and David Hunter.
Ashcroft’s mare Forever Remembered came with her trademark finish down the outside in her race to score for Kyle Harper.
This mare is renowned for her barnstorming finishes and was huge value scoring at the lucrative odds of $23.70 and $4.20.
Later in the programme, reinsman Stuart McDonald brought Hunter’s Twentynine Twelve from three back on the pegs to win running away.
He was well fancied, scoring at the nice odds of $5.20 and $1.50.
Twentynine Twelve loves racing on the pegs and took good advantage of his inside backline draw before the gaps opened and he pounced on the leaders in the final lap.
This double followed on from the Justins’ stable star Mighty Flying Deal winning his maiden metropolitan race the previous week when reinsman Jack Justins fired him straight to the front from where he dictated the race to score as he liked as a well supported $2.80 and $1.40 shot.
The Collie winner from the Friday before that was Hillbilly Time for Trent Wheeler and Peter Hemsley.
All these horses are expected to continue their good form with plenty of suitable racing opportunities coming up.
