A 24-year-old Collie man has been charged with common assault and grievous bodily harm in relation to an incident that left a 27-year-old man with serious head injuries.
Police allege the man became involved in a verbal argument with the victim and his brother at a licensed premises in King Street, Perth at 9pm on Saturday, October 6.
The man then followed the victim out of the premises, where he then allegedly punched him to the jaw, causing the victim to fall and hit his head on the pavement.
The man then allegedly ran towards Northbridge and was chased by a friend of the victim, who he allegedly attempted to punch near James Street.
The victim was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital, where he now remains in a stable condition.
Police released CCTV images of the man yesterday and received a ‘large amount’ of information from the public.
The man is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on Wednesday, October 31.
