It’s our favourite time of the week – a step back in time to reflect on the changes in our region, the faces and the fun that was being had during the month of February 1996.
There was a lot going on in the region at the time.
A joint effort between Collie Rotarians and Lions resulted in the building of the Bibbulmun Track overnight shelter in the Lane Poole Reserve, 25 kilometres North of Collie.
Buried treasure was found on the banks of the Collie River where a watch was found which read, “Julie, all my love, Trevor. 1977.”
Collie finished third in the women’s softball carnival with Maree Rosel from Collie won the Fairest and Best.
Local Bev Davidson also drove away in her brand new Suzuki swift which she won in the Seven Suzuki's Competition.
What was your favourite memory of February 1996?
