Western Australian Music are partnering with Healthway to promote the Act-Belong-Commit message in Bunbury through a series of free song writing workshops.
The sessions will be held as part of the Across The Road Summer Music Festivals happening on Saturday, November 24, Saturday, January 19, and Saturday, February, 9.
Workshop coordinator Em Burrows said she was pleased to be working with Healthway to promote the important community message through the workshops.
“Song writing and playing music has long proved to be an amazing creative outlet and effective way of staying happy, healthy and connected to your community, so it’s great to be able to inject this new aspect into the workshop program,” she said.
The workshops present aspiring artists with the opportunity to explore the creative process, connect with others, and learn about the craft of song writing from established WA artists.
Leading the first song writing workshop will be Perth artist Riley Pearce, who has been recognised for his song writing skills in the past.
Participating South West artists will also have the opportunity to join the Across The Road Summer Festival’s lineup, with two performance slots up for grabs at the January and February festivals for workshop attendees.
