Youth from the Collie Police Community and Youth Centre recently released their first music video to members of the public recently.
The soundtrack, All The Things We Love, was written and sung by the youth themselves with Reach1 Teach1 helping to film the video.
The soundtrack was then dubbed over to create a music video.
The PCYC received roughly $4000 from the Coal Miners Welfare Board to help fund the whole project.
Collie PCYC manager Linda Gallagher said it was amazing to watch all those involved in the video grow throughout the entire process.
“We worked on a 10 week program and covered topics like bullying, personal integrity, self esteem and confidence, fear and how to over come it,” she said.
Then for the last six weeks we worked on recording the soundtrack and filming on locations around Collie.”
Collie PCYC advisory committee president Geoff Wilks said on the night the video was something positive for the town.
“I think it is something really special for Collie, the youth and the PCYC,” he said.
Music video participant David Mears said it was a lot of fun and he would definitely be in the next one.
“I was nervous when we first started recording the soundtrack but then when we started filming I was less nervous and felt okay,” he said.
DVDs of the music video are available for members of the public to purchase for a donation.
