Trent Wheeler had a good weekend with a winner and a third at the meeting in Bunbury on Saturday night and the meeting at Kellerberrin on Sunday.
He started with a win on Peter Hemsley’s four-year-old mare Natural Temptation with a heady drive into the breeze and then running to the front in the final lap for a nine-metre success.
Connections were thrilled with the dividends of $52.40 and $6.20. He then drove Ross Ashby’s Disco Durante into third place from three back on the pegs as a $2.10 place chance.
Wheeler started the Kellerberrin meeting with a third behind the Tim Stone trained Minimum Wage after coming from one out and one back for a place return of $1.60.
Driving for the same stable he came from behind the leader to score narrowly as a well supported $4.20 and $2.10 shot.
Several Collie pacers are engaged for tomorrow’s Wagin programs at the start of the Community Club season in the Great Southern and South West regions.
