A Collie man was fined $500 in the Collie Magistrates Court recently after he was caught driving without a licence.
Corey Steven Adrian McCurley did not appear in court on Wednesday, November 21 but was found guilty of no authority to drive and the possession of cannabis in his absence.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Greg Ward told the court McCurley was pulled over by police on Prinsep Street at approximately 11.30pm on October 19.
Police found at the time that McCurley had never held a driver’s licence.
Police also conducted a search of McCurley and his vehicle and found he was carrying less than a gram of cannabis in his pocket.
Magistrate Evan Shackleton handed McCurley a $500 fine for driving without a license along with a further $200 fine for possessing cannabis.
