School Christmas Carols
Darkan Primary School students and their families enjoyed a twilight picnic tea last Friday night before the annual Christmas carols.
In a relaxed festive atmosphere, some old favourites were mixed in with some more modern Christmas songs in the big sing-along.
Works and Projects
Maintenance graders are working in the north east and south east sections of the shire.
Sealing works will be undertaken on Moodiarrup Changerup, Darkan South, Bowelling Duranillin and Boyup Brook-Arthur roads.
Other works proposed currently include the Darkan Hall car park and Burrowes Street back lane.

The shire is creating tourist maps and brochures for visitors to our shire.

Darkan Sheepfest 2019
Book February 9, 2019 in your diary now for the second annual Darkan Sheepfest to be held at the Darkan Town Oval.
There will be a Sport Shear competition, wool fashion parade, ewe hogget competition, market stall, kid’s entertainment and a band and bar until 10pm.
New for 2019 is a Farm Boot Race and a Young Farmer Challenge.
All that for a gold coin donation.

Operation Decorate Darkan
Congratulations to the Darkan decorators who have been busy recently putting up Christmas decorations around town and along the Highway.

Business Big Bash
The businesses of the Shire of West Arthur would like to invite the shire residents to a sausage sizzle on Friday, December 21 at the Skate Park in Darkan.
This is a thank you for your ongoing support throughout the year. The night is from 6-9pm.
Christmas Carol Service
There will a Combined Church Carol Service on December 16 at 7pm at the Uniting Church in Darkan.
There will be a “bring and share” dinner at Lot 274 Coalfields Highway before the service for anyone interested.
Fuel Bowser Demo
If you need some advice on how to use the Great Southern fuel bowsers just out of Darkan, then come along to a short demonstration session on Wednesday, December 19 at 9.30am at the bowsers—all are more than welcome.
