It has taken 18 months of fundraising but the Collie Western Riding Association has finally achieved its target of acquiring a tractor.
Collie Western Riding Association Inc president Tim Elliott said the club was thankful for all the help to be able to receive its first tractor.
“Without the kind donations and serious fundraising from members, friends and also the Unity Bank this would not have been achievable,” Mrs Elliott said.
“A big thank you has to go to the Coalminers Welfare Board for their kind donation. They have once again helped us achieve our goal.
“Over the years the Coalminers Welfare Board has supported the Collie Western Riding Association in many ventures. Thank you once again.”
The tractor will be used to pull the drag to maintain the riding surface of the arena.
A member had kindly donated his tractor for use for several years until the club could afford their own.
Mrs Elliott said the club were looking forward to the next club day and to be able to use it.
Collie Western Riding Association Inc held its most recent club day on Saturday, January 12.
