Australia Day
The West Arthur community is invited to attend the annual Australia Day Breakfast at Lake Towerinning on Saturday, January 26.
Breakfast is served from 8am. Please bring a plate, cutlery, cup and chair.
The Australia Day awards will be presented after breakfast.
Volunteers wanted
The Senior Meals are starting again on Thursday, February 7.
Are you able to help? We have a lovely group of volunteers but would love some new faces.
We cook every Thursday from 9am-12noon.
You would be on the roster with two others only about every 3-4 months.
The only requirement is that you complete a Food Safety Certificate which is done online at no cost.

Second Darkan Sheepfest
Saturday, February 9 heralds the second annual Darkan Sheepfest at the Darkan Town Oval from 9.30am.
Entry fee is a gold coin. There will be great entertainment for all ages.
Shearing, fashion parade, sheep competitions, stalls, music, foot races and plenty of food and drink options til late.

Tech Tuesdays at the CRC
Not sure how to upload, download, turn on, update on your phone, tablet, laptop etc, well come and ask Daniel between 10am-12noon on a Tuesday.
Free for the first 1/2 hour. You can make an appointment or just turn up and wait your turn.
Walking group
Come along and be part of a walking group based from the CRC.
The walks are for 30 minutes every Thursday from 9am. Just turn up or contact Abby for more info.
This is inspired by a Heart Foundation initiative.
Community cash vouchers
Are you stuck for a gift for someone local?
What about a gift voucher to spend at participating stores? It’s easy—just come into the CRC, buy a voucher, give it away and the recipient can go into any store displaying the Community Cash Voucher and use it.
It is easy and helps us to shop local. Contact the CRC for more info or if you want your business to become part of this great initiative.

Kanopy for movies online – ask us how. Hundreds of movies added every month. You are welcome to watch at the CRC if you like;
OverDrive to access over half a million eBook, audiobook, music and video titles;
A Sony eReader you can borrow that can access OverDrive;
BorrowBox for eAudiobooks. Be entertained or educated on those long drives;
rbDigital for free online magazines. All your favourites are there.

If you need someone to talk to please be aware that Southern Agcare provides confidential free-of-charge counselling most Wednesdays at the West Arthur CRC.

Basic computer sessions in February
The West Arthur CRC will be hosting basic computer info sessions on Wednesdays in February from 10-11am.
The topics covered start from how to turn your computer on through to signing up to Facebook, anything to do with photos and then a general question session at the last date on February 27. No RSVPs are required.
