The under 18’s Boys Country Week Basketball Team played passionately on the weekend.
In the first 3 games we started a little slower than what we wanted, only winning 1 from 3.
Although all 3 games where extremely close winning and loosing under 10 points.
It was game 4 that the team really started to play as a team and really show their potential, winning game 4 convincingly.
I’d like to give big credit to the boys playing in high 30 degree heat at a stadium with no air conditioning, and keeping them self’s hydrated to compete at their best.
Going into day 2 we only had the 1 game but it was against the undefeated team in our pool. It was the proudest moment of the weekend.
With half a chance to playing finals each boy stood up and really taken over the game and dominated as a team to take out the win against Bridgetown.
Winning the game by 15 points. Showing the true spirt of Collie in Never Giving Up. A Big Congratulations to the under 16 boys and under 18 girls on winning their titles and the under 16 girl on makeing the semi’s representing their Collie town proudly. Great effort from all players and coaches. Also a Huge Thankyou to all parents and volunteers for their support and help managing the teams. Go Collie Coach Coyle
