OVER SIXTY STATE SINGLES
Gary Keep entered into the Over Sixty State Singles last week in Perth and made his way through to the grand final where he played Gordon King from Osborne Park. After a few ends Gordon King had Gary 9 to 1. Half way through the game Gary came back and made it 15 all.
The next few ends were crucial as Gary was holding shot, but Gordon King came through and trailed the Jack for 2 then on the next end Gary held for 3 but Gordon King drove the Jack into the ditch finishing the game with 21 to 15.
Congratulations Gary. You played really well and have done Collie Bowling Club proud.
LADIES PENNANTS – Feb 12: The ladies had a visit from the Bunbury Ladies for the Tuesday Pennants last week, with mixed results. With Heather falling on the green we had to re-arrange our team. We now host the first and second semi finals on Tuesday, February 19 in Collie. Collie 1 point 50 aggregate lost to Bunbury 5 points 57 aggregate; G. Kaurin, R. Colgan, M. Young, B. Old lost 12 to 25; L. Mitchell, K. Cluning, K. McElroy, E. Hndle lost 15 to 22; K. Scott, K. Snow, J. Saunders, M. Taylor won 10 to 23.
MEN'S TUESDAY PENNANTS – Feb 12: All divisions were home in Collie on Tuesday last week. Division 1 played Eaton and had a win. Division 3 Collie White lost to Dunsborough and Collie Blue had a win.
Div 1: Collie 3 points 40 aggregate defeated Eaton 1 point 38 aggregate; T. Edwards, R. Garner, K. McKenzie, T. Uren won 22 to 13; J. Parker, J. McElroy, R. Ferris, R. Colgan lost 18 to 25.
Div 3: Collie Blue 3 points 42 defeated Eaton 1 point 41 aggregate; T. Gale, V. Brojanowski, M. Miller, C. Sanford lost 14 to 19; H. Wiggers, P. DeBondi, J. Godfrey, N. Roberts won 28 to 22. Collie White 0 pints 34 aggregate lost to Dunsborough 4 points 43; B. Lowe, I. Corley, J. Stone, I. Bushell lost 21 to 22; W. Stocks, L. Flynn, J. Bell, G. Saggers lost 13 to 21.
PINE HAULIERS MEAT PACK – Feb 6 & 13: Results of Wednesday meat pack on February 6 were: Winner - Trevor Weelsh and John Bell with 4 points plus 10; Second - Kelly Flynn and Peter Kaurin with 4 points plus 3. On February 13 there was a good roll up of players and again the players swapped partners and took their score with them onto the next game. The greens are running well and makes for great bowls. Winner: Peter Kaurin; Second: Rob Ferris; Third: Steve Matthews; Fourth: Neil Roberts; Fifth: Jamie Parker.
GUPPY SMASH REPAIRS COMMUNITY BOWLS – Feb 13: Once again the community bowls had another good night and with the handicap on teams that win. Derby Road won by 22 shots with Stumpy Strikers and in third Bendigo Cash Cows all these teams now have a 6 handicap.
SOLARGAIN CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES – Feb 14:
On Thursday last week the ladies played their championship triples last week and it came down to the last game to see who was the winner. Good bowls were played and a good day was enjoyed by all players.
Winner: Kerry Scott, Glenice Kaurin and Bev Old; Runners-up: Vicki Daniel, Margaret Young and Rose Godfrey.
SATURDAY PENNANTS – Feb 16:
The Division 1 team played in Eaton and Division 2 played Harvey at home with both division winning their games. Division 1 are on top of the ladder and Division 2 are in fourth spot.

Division 1: Collie 5 points 56 aggregate defeated Eaton 1 point 53 aggregate;

Division 2: Collie 6 points 82 aggregate defeated Harvey 0 points 24 aggregate;

CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES – Feb 24:
The singles will commence at 10.30am for the plate and 12 noon for the major, followed by the grand finals of both at 3pm.
SCROUNGERS will start at the usual time; nominations in by 9.15am and on the green by 9.30pm.
