Writing and Publishing Short Course: Writing and publishing in the digital age in plain English is what this short course is all about on Thursday, February 28 from 10.30am—3pm at the West Arthur CRC. Current Works and Projects: Maintenance graders will be grading bus routes including Cordering North, Capercup South, Trigwell Bridge, Gibbs and Glenorchy South roads so keep an eye out for the those vehicles. Construction works planned for this fortnight includes gravel sheeting on Bokal South Road and the Shire has taken delivery of a new tip truck.
St John Heart Grant: A heads up to local community groups that thanks to Lotterywest, St John WA has opened applications for the Heart Grant. St John WA is offering more than 1000 defibrillators to not-for-profit community groups and sporting clubs, to be installed on the exterior of a building for public community use. This offer includes the defibrillator unit, a lock box and necessary first aid training. This package normally retails well in excess of $2000, however the cost to successful grant recipients will be only $200.

Local Gardeners Needed!: Some of the locals who currently care for the community garden beds at The Shed are looking for some younger folk to help them with their garden beds with a view to taking them over permanently. CWA Morning Tea: Darkan CWA will be holding a Meet & Greet morning tea for all the ladies who participated in making poppies for the Greenbushes Belles CWA. They are hoping the Belles will be coming along to pick up the poppies and that everyone can make it on Friday, February 22 from 10am to 12 noon at the Darkan CWA rooms.
