This Sunday afternoon Collie Harness Racing hosts its annual Family Day at the Wallsend Paceway.
As well as giving away its usual Bike to one lucky kid on course some $300 worth of sporting goods will also be given away to kids whose names are lucky enough to be drawn out of the box.
Also, the usual Chocolate Wheel with the major prize of a week’s holiday in Kalbarri will be drawn along with several other prizes.
The Pick 4 competition was won last week so reverts to the starting position of a $100 Tote voucher for this meeting and the Select the Order will again be run for a cash prize of $3000.
A good programme of races at the meeting will be held starting just after 1pm. The main race will be the Telstra 5G Pace and a talented field is nominated.
Nowuseemesmile, Adda Rockinheaven, You Bettor Watch Me and Hold That Smile have all been consistent in recent weeks and look the main chances.
Adda Boy, Secure the Gold and Aussie Made Kiwi look the main chances in one supporting race and Sarge, How Gouda She and Empty The Till similarly suited in another.
A competitive standing start field has One For Sassy, Budd Sidewinder, Compact Rocket and local Hillbilly Time opposed to each other over the long 2700 metres where the stamina of those engaged will be tested.
Another standing start race over 2400 metres has good competition in Bettor Twisted, Emjay Twenty Three, Sammys Ideal and Disco Spirit.
Despite clashing with the Yearling Sales in Perth all the leading contenders in the Williams, Bridgetown, Collie seasonal awards look like being represented.
Trainers Sarah Suvaljko and Peter Tilbrook, Reinsmen Dylan Egerton-Green and Shannon Suvaljko all have runners while leading Junior Reinsperson in Emily Suvaljko will have several drives.
Last meeting's winners in Bettor Twisted and How Gouda She look like trying to extend their lead in the Leading Horse Award.
Two meetings in Collie and one in Bridgetown will finalise the winners of all the awards. Last Friday in Albany, Cody Wallrodt and Trent Wheeler both ran seconds after sitting behind the leader, Cody behind his Mum Karen’s Mon Alisa Jet and Trent behind Princess Major for Peter Fairless, paying place dividends of $2.40 and $2.20 respectively.
A Sunday afternoon programme in Bunbury also had three placings.

There was $3.10 return for supporters of Bianca Ashcroft’s Triple Brie when she ran third for Ashleigh Markham, while Peter Hemsley was thrilled with the performance of Hillbilly Time with Mark Johnson in the bike when he stormed home for second as a $4.10 place chance.
