It’s our favourite time of the week – a step back in time to reflect on the changes in our region, the faces and the fun that was being had during May to June 1991.
The state government began a $2.4 million logging operation in the Collie pine plantation. The government planned to initially log 25 hectares and expected to fell the remaining 235 hectares over a five year period.
Premier Carmen Lawrence ended two years of speculation with the announcement of a coal-fired power station to be located north-east of Collie.
Police were having a hard time with thousands of dollars of materials being stolen from building sites.
