As a result of a busy week which included several burglaries, Collie Police Senior Sergeant Heath Soutar said the community needed to be vigilant with their property and look out for suspicious behaviour.
On March 12 police executed a search warrant on Buckingham Way about 10.45am. A quantity of cannibis was found and as well as smoking implements.
As a result a 25 year old man was charged with drug possession and drug paraphernalia. He will appear in court next month.
On the same day police executed another search warrant on Shannon Street, Cardiff where an unlicensed firearm was seized.
As a result, a 42 year old man has been charged with an unlicensed firearm and will appear in court next month.
At 3pm on March 12, police spoke to a man on Saunders Street which led to a body search which uncovered a small amount of cannabis and other items which were seized for analysis.
As a result a 50 year old man was charged with possessing a prohibited drug and drug paraphernalia.
On March 13, police received a burglary report for a property on Atkinson Street which would have occurred in the early hours of that morning.
The offender gained entry through a security screen and went into multiple rooms before leaving with a safe, cash and identification documents.
On March 14, police received a burglary report about lunchtime at a property on Bickerton Street which also had occurred over the last 24 hours.
Offenders tried to gain entry through the front door and sliding door but got inside through a window. A TV, dvd player and floor mat were stolen.
There was another burglary on March 14 at the Collie Ridge Motel on Throssell Street. One of the rooms was broken into when the offender gained access through the second storey. A wallet, portable speaker and tablet were stolen.
In the afternoon of March 14, police received a burglary report on Jones Street. A man had gone into the rear yard of a property and stole an unlicensed Yamaha trail bike.
The man was seen on the bike several times over the next 24 hours and police were alerted to him being located in bushland near the airport.
Police found the bike and a man asleep next to it. As a result a 32 year old man was charged with burglary, stealing a motorbike and drug offences.
He was remanded in custody and appeared in court on March 20. The man was charged with other burglary offences that had occurred a few days prior.
On the same day and on the same street police received a report about a stolen car.
The owner was working on the car when he went inside and left the keys in the ignition.
He heard the car being started up but it was gone by the time he got back outside.
The car was later found crashed into some fences on Ogden Street. Police are calling for witnesses.
Police executed a search warrant on Sunday March 17 at a property on Moore Street.
Fourty cannabis plants were seized as well as some cannabis leaves and seeds.
A 47-year-old man was charged with cultivating a prohibited plant and drug paraphernalia. He will appear in court next month.
