A woman was airlifted to the Royal Perth Hospital in the RAC rescue helicopter after two cars collided on Simpson Street, near the intersection of Walsh Street in Collie on Wednesday night, March 20.
A 33-year-old female driver and an 80-year-old female passenger were in one vehicle and a 20-year-old male was in the other before they collided.
Collie's Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service crew had to cut the female driver out of the vehicle due to the injuries she had sustained on impact. She was then flown to Perth where she remains in a stable condition.
Officers from St John Ambulance and Collie Police Station were also at the scene to assist.
Collie police senior sergeant Heath Soutar said it appeared a vehicle may have gone through a give way sign.
Collie police are investigating the crash further.
Funded by the state government, the RAC rescue helicopters are managed by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services.
