A Collie man has been fined $1250 and forced to pay court costs, over a series of noise complaints.
Due to appear in Collie Magistrates Court on Wednesday, May 29, the man submitted endorsed pleas of guilty to the charges.
In April, police attended the 23-year-old man's address after responding to multiple noise complaints. Officers then issued a noise abatement order.
During their third visit to the premises in one night, police seized the man's stereo.
The offences came under the Environmental Protection Act.
"If people believe unreasonable noise is being emitted from a premises, they can ring us and we'll assess the situation," Collie Senior Sergeant Heath Soutar said.
"People can make noise complaints at any time. However, time, place, and circumstance will determine what actions are taken.
"In this case, police had visited the premises on a number of occasions over a period of time.
"The accused had received verbal and written warnings, before charges were handed down.
"Police handed down charges and seized the equipment as a last resort, in order to provide peace and quiet to the neighbourhood."
