Kicking off this Friday, the town's major annual arts festival is a fun and quirky 10-day event that showcases the community of Collie and its diverse artistic talent.

Originally started by Griffin Coal, and now run by the Shire of Collie, this year will see a talent show finale wow crowds, an art competition, arty and crafty workshops for both children and adults, and a street fair, all around the theme of bikes, hikes and trails.

Community development officer Tamsin Emmett encouraged the community to get involved.

"It's an opportunity for people to get out of the house, enjoy the creativity of the community and have a family day out," she said.

"The majority of activities are free, the only costs are $5 for a few of the workshops, so it's an amazing way to celebrate the diversity of our town."
