2019 has been a great season for all 263 Collie Eagles junior football players.
The players turn up each week to play, whatever the weather, because they love the game, and it's been great to see parents, siblings and even grandparents turning up each week to support them and help out.
Without parent helpers and volunteers we wouldn't have a game, so the Collie Eagles Junior Football committee can't thank our coaches, team managers, goal scorers, water runners and all other helpers enough for volunteering their time each week.
This year we've seen a lot of new players across all age groups.
We now have numerous female players and our Year 6 team began travelling for games in the South West Football League.
Unfortunately, none of our travelling teams made it to a grand final this year, despite their admirable effort - the Year 6's don't poll votes or have a finishing ladder but they tried their best in every game.
The Year 7 team should be congratulated, finishing second on the ladder but falling short against Carey Park in the semi-finals.
Our Year 8 team also had a great season, finishing fourth on the ladder.
The Year 9s had a slow start to the season, but showed some real improvement as the season went on, finishing eighth on the ladder.
Our Year 10s showed great potential early, but as the season went on they struggled to field a team due to injuries and finished sixth on the ladder.
Each week, our coaches would choose those players who were deserving of an award, this could be for effort, commitment, sportsmanship etc.
This would not be possible without the ongoing support and sponsorship of our local businesses who are so important to the success of the club: Amaroo Super Deli, Lindaz Central Deli, Sizzles Deli, Steere St Deli, Dominos Pizza, McDonalds, Crank n Cycles.
Our 2019 season wound up on the weekend with the travelling teams presentation night.
During our season, parents, spectators and umpires are asked to vote, giving a vote from 1 to 5 for best on ground.
These votes are tallied up at the end of the season, and combined along with the votes polled from the South West Junior Football League, and awards are given for fairest and best, runner-up fairest and best and third fairest and best.
There is also a coach's award and a club champion award, which goes to the person who has polled the most votes across all teams.
This year's award winners are:
YEAR 7:
3rd Fairest & Best - Hayden Fogarty; Runner-up Fairest & Best - Max Ireland; Fairest & Best - Tom Bell; Coaches Award - Troy Bolderson
YEAR 8:
Runner-up Fairest & Best - Joshua Elliott; Fairest & Best - Judd Rinder; 3rd Fairest & Best - Seth Rushton; Coaches Award - Zak Reuben (absent).
YEAR 9:

YEAR 10:

CLUB CHAMPION:
This year's club champion award went to a very deserving Tom Bell, from the Year 7 team.
Tom polled votes in every round this season and took out club champion with 183 votes, independent of the SWJFL votes, as only Year 8, 9 and 10 can receive these votes.
This is a huge achievement and one that has not been seen before for our club.
Congratulations to Tom.
