The Department of Biodiversity has warned the Shire of Collie of significant smoke impact from prescribed burning planned for today.
The department will be targeting approximately 500 hectares 18km west of Collie town centre as part of bushfire risk management and biodiversity management ahead of summer.
As a result of the prescribed burning residents and travelers are being warned of significant smoke impact in the following areas:
- Coalfields Highway, Wellington Dam Road, Lennard Drive and River Road;
- Collie Talanalla Road
Drivers should expect delays and potential road closures as well as several walk and mountain bike trails will be closed for the duration of the burn.
