Eager golfers and tentative newbies are being invited to the Collie Golf Club this weekend to take part in a free clinic with golfing great Shani Waugh.
The golfing clinic has been organised by long time club member Bev Moyses and is aimed at increasing the skills of players and introducing those keen to get involved with the sport.
Shani Waugh is a golfer who turned professional in 1991 at 21 where she developed a highly successful international career with highlights including winning three times on the Ladies European Tour and finishing third in the 2002 US Women's Open.
Mrs Moyses said she had planned the workshop in an effort to get numbers up in the women's league in Collie.
"Like all clubs across Australia we're struggling with numbers and this is really just trying to encourage women to get involved," she said.
"I find once they have a go they tell me they wish they'd started sooner, so it's all about getting them in the door.
"Just come along and give it a go, there's nothing to lose and it's free."
The workshop will be held this Sunday at 3:30pm at the Collie Golf Club on Mungalup Road.
All equipment will be supplied and attendees are encouraged to stay and enjoy light refreshments after the workshop.
