Following a spate of purposely lit fires in the Collie region, Police are calling for the assistance of the community to help catch the culprit.
Over the past two to three weeks Collie officers have attended a series of fires deliberately lit in the northern region of Collie.
Senior Sergeant Health Soutar put the call out to the public to assist officers in ensuring the string of fires didn't escalate.
"Collie is surrounded by bush and the last thing we want to see is a major fire come through and with bushfire season coming up we'd certainly like to see the culprit caught," he said.
"All suspicious fires reported to us are investigated, any information is logged and recorded so even if a call doesn't eventuate in that moment it could lead to something.
"So if anyone sees anybody acting suspiciously or a number plate of an unfamiliar car, regardless of the day or night, let us know straight away."
