Collie Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service will go into the 2019 bushfire season as the best equipped squad in the region.
With the assistance of a Synergy, a purpose-built mobile water filling point was unveiled last week featuring a brand new design by long-serving volunteer fire fighter and local man Tom Kenneally.
Holding 30,000 litres of water, the tank allows for rapid fire suppressant, reduced the economic loss faced during fires by lowering the volunteer hours required in the field and optimises loading times to less than three minutes.
With 30 years of volunteering under his belt Mr Kenneally said the design idea stemmed from the need for a more mobile access to water.
"I began to notice the dwindling water available and the need to access bulk water quickly," he said.
"This tank is the first of its kind and being able to be loaded and unloaded in a manner of minutes makes it mobile, not just for Collie but the whole region."
