The State Junior Champion Blake Iwanow has won the Collie Championship at the Make Smoking Collie Speedway on Saturday night.
Iwanow had some tough opposition from some of the other drivers with Seth Hinsey and Matthew Thomson his main opponents.
Thomson was in his first race meeting at Collie for the season and showed that he wasn't missing too much in the skills department.
During the Championship final it was Hinsey and Thomson who were swapping positions throughout the race before Hinsey finally had to retire after hitting the concrete wall sustaining damage to his race car.
Although he tried to re enter the race the damage prevented him from doing so.
Iwanow cruised away to a comfortable win ahead of Thompson and Jasmine Kennedy who had made the long trip up from Albany for the event.
Iwanow won all four race on the night showing he has the goods to go a couple of steps higher when the National Junior title comes to Collie.
The New Star Juniors exposed a couple of drivers who have demonstrated a solid future in speedway.
Deagan McNally won the three heat races while second position was hotly contested with Alyvia Ferraro and Kai Lesson driving well.
In the final Ferraro surprise us all when she took the lead from McNally and ran away to a comfortable win.
McNally tried as hard as he could but any time he closed in on Ferraro the pocket rocket just put the foot down a little harder and drove on to win the Championship.
Leeson had to withdraw with car problems leaving third place to a brand new driver, Jayden Richards.
Super mods, the blast from the past arrived in numbers and didn't disappoint with some great racing.
The feature race was won in fine style by the youngest driver in the field, Braeden Aylmore from Narrogin. Aylmore showed a lot of skill negotiating the slower taffic to win by a very comfortable margin.
Wingles Sprints were also with a top field and showed they can handle the Collie track with speed.
Their racing on Saturday night was exceptional with each race hotly contested and fast.
Local Collie drivers Warren Hunter and James Bissaker showed some promise however they we no match for the ultimate winner Tyson Byden.
Byden led a group of five drivers in close formation for most of the 15 lap feature race driving a faultless race.
Production Sedans tried hard to keep Beau Riley from the front but in the end he was also in faultless condition taking all races on the night.
Wayne Leviston finished second to Riley and in third place it was Felicity Nelson who drove sensibly all night.
Street Stock were down on numbers with four top Collie drivers missing from the action.
The cars that did turn up all showed good form with Phil Lycholitt holding off Josh Davies to win the feature with Brodie Dunn coming in third place.
The Christmas Cup Family night will be on Saturday December 21 and all sedan event starting at 6pm.
