The long awaited new Aboriginal Business Capacity Building program will soon launch in the South West as workshops are prepared for Bunbury, Busselton and Collie.
IPS Management was awarded $1.5 million in contracts earlier this year from the state government as a way to enhance the ability for Aboriginal businesses and not-for-profit organisations to win work.
The program will consist of a series of free business capability workshops throughout the metro, Peel and South West regions, alongside one-on-one business advisory sessions to give participants individual guidance for their businesses and organisations.
IPS Management Consultants commercial and finance director Katina Law said the organisation was excited aout the commencement and delivery of the new program.
"We are passionate about championing Aboriginal businesses to grow and develop," she said.
"IPS, our advisors and expert partners have a shared desire to continue to create active business ecosystems - an environment where businesses connect and interact, making the most of their opportunities.
"The workshops will be offered in a wide variety of locations... they will also be online so that as many people as possible can attend."
The majority of the program will be delivered in the first half of 2020.
The workshops will cover topics such as marketing, finance, governance, contracts, writing tenders and human resource management.
The program builds upon the success of the government's Aboriginal Procurement Policy which has seen more than four per cent of government contracts awarded to Aboriginal businesses in the past six months.
