Fremantle forward Cam McCarthy has returned to AFL training just two days after suddenly collapsing during a non-contact session.
McCarthy was taken to hospital in an ambulance and underwent tests after he fell while standing at the back of a line during a training drill on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old returned to the club and ran laps at Friday's session as his team prepared for a match simulation.
"He seems to be in good spirits, seems his normal self," Dockers midfielder Adam Cerra told reporters.
"I think everyone was just pleased to see him back out here so soon.
Fremantle will on Tuesday fly to the Gold Coast, where they will spend at least four weeks to restart the AFL season.
The Dockers had intended to take their entire squad, including injured players, but McCarthy is no certainty of joining his teammates in the hub.
"I know the initial tests, the results came back really good," Cerra said.
"But I'm not too sure yet (when he'll return)."
Cerra said the extended layoff had left the club in good shape for the season restart with David Mundy, Blake Acres, Nathan Wilson, Stephen Hill and Jesse Hogan all taking part in the match simulation after missing round one.
Hogan has impressed on the track and is a chance to face Brisbane at the Gabba in round two but the club will not rush his return.
The former Melbourne spearhead went on leave in January to focus on his mental health and hasn't played since June last year.
