He doesn't struggle with confidence, but even Matt Moylan needs an 80-minute performance to be sure his injury comeback is for real on Saturday.
The 28-year-old will start at five-eighth against North Queensland for the first time since September in 2018 coming off an injury-plagued season where he managed just 11 games.
Although he officially returned for the Sharks off the bench last week, starting and finishing a game will signal to both Moylan and coach John Morris that he has finally shaken his injury woes.
"That's the biggest thing that takes a hit when you get injured it is that confidence and when you're a ball-player like Matty you want to be playing with a lot of confidence," Morris said on Friday.
"He's certainly not short of confidence, that's for sure. Sometimes that's his biggest issue.
"He's the first one to say he rolls the dice and overplays his hand a bit because that's the type of player he is, he likes to have a crack and use the footy and he plays what he sees.
"In the modern game with the speed of the ruck and the six again, we'll see the best out of Matty Moylan."
Moylan has played just 30 games at five-eighth at a club level compared to over 90 at fullback, but insists he'll be right at home in the No.6 jersey.
A confidence boost would go a long way for Moylan, who has only scored two tries for the Sharks since arriving in 2018 - the last of which was in round 21 of the same year.
Meanwhile, Morris said injured stars Chad Townsend and Andrew Fifita were close enough to fit to play on Saturday but have been rested for another week as a precaution.
He expects both to be available for selection in round five.
