WA man charged for allegedly trying to film up a teenage girl's skirt

A man has been charged after he was reported for allegedly trying to film up a teenage girl's skirt.

Around 12.20pm on Saturday August 2, a 15-year-old girl was in Armadale Central Shopping Centre when it is alleged the man approached her from behind with his mobile phone in his hand.

Police allege he stood within a short distance of her and dropped an empty shopping bag on the floor behind her and deliberately kicked the shopping bag between her legs before bending down to pick it up with his mobile phone still in his hand.

"The girl's mother alerted shopping centre security and the matter was referred to police," a police spokesperson said.

The 62-year-old man from Brookdale has been charged with. (Att) Indecently Recorded a Child over 13 and under 16 years.

He is due to appear in court at a later date.
