Sydney Sixers coach Greg Shipperd has vowed to roll with the punches as his BBL side continue to wonder whether they will play at home this season.
The Sixers, having topped the ladder at the end of the regular season, will host Perth Scorchers in Saturday's qualifier final at Canberra's Manuka Oval.
Victory this weekend will mean the defending champions advance to a home final.
Sydney's COVID-19 cluster means the city is yet to host a BBL game this season, with Cricket Australia keen to avoid logistical issues created by border closures.
There is growing hope the SCG may be cleared to host the season decider on February 6, if the Sixers defeat Perth, after Queensland and South Australia both vowed to open their borders to Sydneysiders.
However, Western Australia is yet to lift its requirement for incoming travellers from NSW to self-quarantine for 14 days.
"It's like everything this season, nothing is defined," Shipperd told reporters.
"It depends on our result. I guess if we win that takes the decision to the next level.
"If we don't we're likely to play - where - again I don't know.
"We're rolling with the punches this year and to the group's credit, they've done marvellously well. As have all teams."
The Sixers' most recent outing at the SCG was the 2019-20 final, when young opener Josh Philippe starred in his side's victory over Melbourne Stars.
"We have fond memories of playing at our home ground and having a winning experience, so we'd love to go back," Shipperd said.
"It's a comfortable environment and would give our fans an opportunity to come and watch us play for the first time this season."
The Sixers are also waiting on a final call regarding Mitchell Starc's availability for finals.
Starc signed a contract with the club last year, declaring his intent to don the magenta for the first time since 2014-15, but his BBL return is yet to be cleared by Cricket Australia's medicos.
"There is still a chance. We've got some important medical decisions being made today," Shipperd said.
"Any team in this form of the game would love to have him in their side.
"Elite talent. Pace, he's a great fielder, hits the ball long and hard, and is used to playing in big-pressure moments and we're moving into finals.
"As we experienced last year with Steve Smith and Josh Hazlewood coming in, they were a wonderful addition to our group."
