THE husband of a Collie woman who died in January after contracting Legionnaires Disease has described her as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and "one of those people everyone fell in love with".
Mark Camisa's wife Sharon died in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital after contracting a strain of the disease linked to potting mix.
Mr Camisa told Fairfax Radio he was keen to raise awareness of the dangers of potting mix without precautions.
He said he wanted to see packaging on potting mix changed to reflect the risks.
"The warnings on the bags need to be made bolder, in a difficult colour to the rest of the writing," he said.
"Unless it stands out, people just overlook it."
Mr Camisa said while his wife's immune system was low, wearing a protective mask may have saved her.
"Even just wetting down the potting mix," he said.
