The 47-year-old had a history with depression and was in 2012 admitted to Sydney's St Vincent's Hospital after being the subject of an ongoing tirade of abuse on Twitter.
Police have confirmed a woman's body was found at the address in Woolloomooloo and there were no suspicious circumstances.
The New Zealand-born Dawson, a former model, was until recently a judge on the Foxtel show Australia's Next Top Model (ANTM), but had long been a high-profile personality, appearing on television and featuring in gossip magazines.
