While the first night of Leavers Week for 2014 was quiet, WA police were still hard at work with 38 drug charges laid.
The charges occurred after police conducted 14 search warrants across four days.
State commander for leavers Murray Smalpage said police received tip-offs from their intelligence department.
The searches occurred in Busselton, Dunsborough, Margaret River and Nannup.
Sergeant Smalpage said the seizures enabled police to provide a safe environment for leavers.
"We don't want drugs in the zone," he said.
There were five searches in Nannup where police found 17 grams of methamphetamines, ecstasy, cannabis, plants and drug paraphernalia.
There were three searches in Margaret River and one arrest with the charge of trying to sell and supply prohibited drugs.
Police are expecting close to 6,000 leavers in Dunsborough from November 24 to 27.
Sergeant Smalpage was pleased they were able to take away opportunity of buying prohibited drugs from the leavers.
"We are vigilant and are making every effort to provide a drug free week," he said.
"This is a warning; if you have prohibited drugs you will be caught."
Police will be searching the leavers zone before the teenagers arrive on the first night of celebrations.
Sergeant Smalpage also urged parents to stay in contact with their children during the week and if they had any concerns to contact the police.
