London: What do you give the Queen who has everything? A miniature Game of Thrones throne, of course.
An official list of royal gifts received in 2014, released by Buckingham Palace on Wednesday, includes a "miniature 7-inch (17.78cm) throne from Game of Thrones series".
She received it from her hosts when she visited the Game of Thrones series set in Belfast last year.
The list, published every year, features the usual coins, wine, cushions, books and paintings – tokens of welcome and gratitude from heads of state and from the royals' hosts on their travels.
The Queen also scored a dressage crop, a coffee grinder, a boot scraper and a tartan scarf.
Gifts from Australians include:
- A grey Australian Commonwealth Games scarf, given to the Queen at a reception in Glasgow.
- Prince Edward and Sophie, countess of Wessex, were given two sets of cufflinks and two books by the governor-general and the Brisbane Club.
- The Royal Corps of Australian Signals sent Princess Anne a wooden plaque.
Other unusual gifts include a case of beer for the Duke of Edinburgh, from a brewery to mark a Royal Marines anniversary.
Prince Edward received some tinned fish on a visit to Canada, Princess Anne was sent 100 mangoes by the prime minister of Pakistan and a sack of coffee beans from Vanuatu, and the Duke of Kent scored four bottles of gin on a visit to Northamptonshire.
Prince Andrew, currently beset by sex abuse allegations that he vehemently denies, received in the post a copy of Hillary Clinton's book Hard Choices – sent by the author.
On his Australian visit in October 2013, Prince Harry's haul of presents included a bottle of whisky, an engraved hip flask and a pair of military goggles from the SAS, and several soft toys from individual fans.
