Amaroo Primary School has this year welcomed new principal Jason Romeo.
Mr Romeo was previously principal at Brunswick Junction Primary School for six years, and worked in Port Headland for ten years before that.
Mr Romeo said he was looking forward to upholding the high esteem that Amaroo Primary School is renowned for, and wished to continue its ongoing success.
“I want to keep up with the ongoing success that the school is known for,” he said.
Mr Romeo said he is looking forward to being a part of the community and upholding the prestige of Amaroo Primary School.
This year is the first year that Amaroo Primary School is classified as an independent school and Mr Romeo said he will look forward to speaking with the school board to discuss future progress and plans.
Mr Romeo said he has felt most welcome in the school community and in Collie, despite the fact he is a Carleton supporter.
“I’ve had a fantastic welcome to the school from the parents and school staff.”
Originally from Perth, Mr Romeo and his family are based in Australind, and he said he enjoys the daily commute to Collie.
He said he will be meeting with the staff and school community to discuss the future plans for the coming year.
