The two found themselves fighting for survival at The Box on day two in the first heat of round two.
Davies scored 6.67 from the judges for his first wave which Medina soon matched exactly.
On his fourth wave, the home town hero stuck a 8.50 while Medina could only manage a 1.00 and bowed out of the event.
The win caps off a magical run for Davies, 28 who qualified for the event with a win in the WA trials on Tuesday.
