A 46-year-old man is in critical condition after being thrown from his motorbike in a road accident in North Beach on Wednesday evening.
WA Police spokeswoman Ros Weatherall said at 5.20pm a 20-year-old man was parked in a Toyota Landcruiser in the northbound lane of West Coast Drive, and as he tried to do a U-turn, collided with the bike travelling north.
Its rider received life-threatening injuries in the accident and is in Royal Perth Hospital.

East Vic Park chase ends in drug haul
In a separate incident an East Victoria Park man allegedly tried to evade police in his car, before crashing, abandoning it and being caught by police dog Mako.
Ms Weatherall said when officers caught up with him they seized a substance they believed to be methamphetamine, as well as cannabis, a Taser, pepper spray and a smoking implement from the car.
She said at about 12.20am police tried to stop the Hyundai Elantra on Rowe Avenue, Rivervale, but the driver allegedly failed to stop and evaded police throughout the streets of Belmont.
"It then hit a dead end on Robinson Avenue, before mounting a kerb and driving through a park onto Abernethy Road," she said.
"On nearby Wright Road, the car crashed into a fence sustaining moderate damage."
"The driver ran from the vehicle and Police Dog Mako was deployed to track him. He was apprehended in the yard area of a premises on Wright Street."
Police charged the 32-year-old with failing to stop, failing to comply with a direction to stop, reckless driving, driving without authority, two counts of possessing a prohibited drug and possessing a controlled weapon, a prohibited weapon and drug paraphernalia.
He will appear at Perth Magistrates Court today.
