THE Mandurah Magic women split the points on the weekend, losing to Joondalup on Friday before bouncing back against Stirling on Saturday.
The Magic trailed by 14 points heading into the last period against the third-placed Joondalup but came home strongly reducing the deficit to three points with one and a half minutes remaining before eventually falling short by eight points, 79-71.
Casey Mihovilovich led the way the Magic with 19 points with Shelley Boston hitting 13.
Rebecca Mercer top scored for Joondalup with 21 points.
The Magic bounced backed the following night against Stirling (3-14) with a 20-point win, 83-63.
The win was set up in a 33-point second quarter for the Magic with the lead at 16 at halftime.
Mihovilovich was again the focal point with 18 points and was well supported by Ashlee Sidebottom with 15.
The Magic sit in fourth position on 13 wins and four losses but have played two less games than Joondalup who are in third on 15 wins.
The Magic face second-placed Willetton (16-2) on Saturday at 6pm at the Willetton Basketball Centre.
