It's the blizzard that's shut down schools, shops and businesses. But it's also paved the way for a fearless thrill-seeker to make the streets his own.
Two snowboarders have thrilled the online world with their 2½-minute YouTube video showing them snaking down a New York street in the midst of what could be a record-breaking snowstorm along America's east coast.
Footage of Casey Neistat hanging on to a rope connected to the back of a small 4X4, and darting through streets shut down by the epic storm has had more than 3 million views.
The video shows amused and at times perplexed pedestrians looking on as Mr Neistat slides along streets normally reserved for cars.
At one point a police car catches up with him but the cops don't seem to be too bothered.

While the stunt has earned Mr Neistat plenty of fans, most New Yorkers have heeded mayor Bill de Blasio's warning to stay indoors as the storms dumped 68cm of snow on Central Park.
Across the city, more snow has fallen that at any time since records began, in 1869, forcing a travel ban and affecting millions of people.
It isn't the first time Mr Neistat has taken advantage of strong winter weather to turn the Big Apple into his own playground.
In 2014, he filmed a similar stunt which has since gained 6.7 million views
