Has Dockers classy midfielder Lachie Neale let the cat out of the bag about his plans to stay at Fremantle next year?
The 22-year-old is out of contract at the season's end and rumours are rife that both Adelaide and North Melbourne are keen to sign the on-baller.
The bottom-of-the-table Dockers wouldn't want to lose Neale, with the club having a disastrous start to the season losing its first six games.
The two-time Ross Glendinning Medal winner has been a rare standout for the Dockers this year so far and would be a top priority for the club as it rebuilds over coming seasons.
But Neale gave a hint he might be staying put in WA when he took to social media on Wednesday after the club signed giant Aaron Sandilands until the end of the 2017.
"This bloke makes my job a lot easier and I'm looking forward to playing with him in 2017," Neale said on Snapchat.
According to respected football writer and Radio 6PR reporter Kim Hagdorn, Neale has told the Dockers management he will not engage in discussions on any possible extension until after this season.
"Any move for Neale would require a hefty trade deal to replace such a top priority play-maker, popular personality and team leader," Hagdorn said.
"He will not be a free agent after starting his playing days just five seasons ago in Lyon's first season.
"He is firmly in the sights of the Crows but is believed to be keen to potentially continue his blossoming career in football's hub of Victoria."
