The Under 13’s team took on the Australind Lions away on Saturday.
Both teams came out strong, Jack Costa as the keeper was under pressure but prevented Australind from scoring early.
Liam Donovan, Jake Smith, Methias Ellefsen and Campbell Watt slowed down Australind’s forwards.
Collie produced some excellent play with Hunter Stocks, Liam Cain and Jaemyn Steiner.
Erfan Barbiae and Katelyn Werner were instrumental in pushing the ball forward with consistent passing enabling Justin Davis to try and penetrate Australind’s defences, but Australind then mounted an attack which despite Jack Costa's keeping skills they scored the first goal.
Erfan Barbiae managed to even the score with a goal from a penalty.
Australind stepped up the play and managed to produce a second goal taking the game to 2-1.
Collie responded by pushing the ball consistently into Australind’s half with the whole team displaying great passing and ball possession and in the dying seconds of the game Methias Ellefsen produced a magnificent goal making the final score two-all.
