Collie’s major annual arts festival has a new name.
What was once ‘the Griffin Fesitval’ is now FESTIV ARTY - a fun, quirky and unique new name and branding, while paying homage to the festival’s 27-year history of celebrating arts, culture and community in Collie.
FESTIV ARTY represents a new era for the Griffin Festival, which has showcased the community of Collie and its diverse artistic talent for decades.
Griffin Coal Technical Services and Environmental Manager Brant Edwards said the new branding was a chance to launch a fresh and expanding format for the Festival.
“Griffin Coal is proud to have been associated with the festival for 27 years, and remains a committed key partner now and into the future,” he said.
“With the assistance of Bendigo Bank as co-sponsors, and a dynamic organising committee, Griffin hopes the Festival will continue to expand into a premier regional event which showcases the wonderful community of Collie and the diversity of artistic talent.”
The new brand’s organic faceted shapes were inspired by Collie’s natural coal resources. Collie Community Bank Branch of the Bendigo Bank Chairperson Jeff Riley said the new look and name would breathe new life into the festival.
“This is the second year the Collie Community Bank has proudly supported the festival, and we would love to see it grow with more sponsors, more activities and more visitors coming to town for the festival,” he said.
Activities during FESTIV ARTY will include visual arts and crafts, photography, performing arts and literature. Details will be announced in the coming months on its new website being developed and through social media.
