Collie Police are still investigating two burglaries that happened on the same day last week.
On Tuesday, December 5, a property on McManus Road in Allanson was burgled with replica firearms and handguns stolen from the property.
Acting Senior Sergeant Terry Townsend said police had identified a person of interest in relation to the burglary and are attempting to locate him.
On that same day, a house on Wittenoom Street was broken into while the 95-year-old resident was at home watching television.
The man was unharmed and unaware of the break-in until later when he noticed some of his items were missing.
Acting Senior Sergeant Townsend said police were still investigating the incident and are on the lookout for the resident’s property.
A wallet containing cash and a wooden walking stick with a carving of a snake on it were taken during the burglary.
Police are also investigating yet another theft from a vacant property.
On December 6, police received a report that copper piping had been stolen from the outside of a vacant property on Jones Street.
One of the neighbours told police they had seen two males around the property about two days before the theft was reported.
Anyone with any information about the recent thefts targetting vacant properties is urged to contact the police.
Police also received a report of an attempted theft from a shed at Wilson Park Primary School that occurred sometime over the weekend between December 9 and 10.
Acting Senior Sergeant Townsend said that although thieves had attempted to break into the shed, nothing was taken.
The recent spate of rock throwing incidents has continued with a bus damaged in an incident on Lefroy Street on December 9.
Acting Senior Sergeant Townsend said the windscreen had been smashed and the bus had several dents on the front of it as a result of the incident.
A house on Steere Street was also targetted with a projectile.
At about 10.40pm on December 10, a front window of the house was smashed when the offender threw a bottle at it.
Acting Senior Sergeant Townsend said police inquiries into the incident were continuing.
Finally, Acting Senior Sergeant Townsend has also warned people to be mindful of the raised tensions that occur around Christmas time. He said that families should get along with one another and not resort to violence.
