Bendigo Community Bank Collie Classic – January 10 and 11
There were 28 teams from around the South West and as far as Boulder, Boddington, Darkan, Mandurah, Kulin, Busselton, Eaton, Brunswick, Donnybrook, Binningup, Yunderup, Capel, Bunbury and Williams.
It was two great days of bowls and three teams were vying for contention after day one: Rob Bowron’s team from Eaton, Tom Edwards’ Collie team and G. Evans’ team from Busselton.
On the second day situations changed and it was a must-win for the leading teams.
Five teams were in contention and it came down to the last game and a must-win for Bowron and Edwards to see who finished up on top. Third and fourth positions were in the same boat. Bowron’s team were beaten by Bunbury and Edward’s team had a close finish to come out winners.
After the six games on the second day afternoon tea and presentations were made by Bendigo Community Bank, William Barrett and Sons, Guppy Smash repairs and Collie Radiator representatives.
